@Kevie 🇬🇧🇨🇾 Yes. The tree is still relatively small though. It was almost a bit too much as the fruits are quite big. On a windy day indeed one branch sadly broke off.

@schnagi Oh ... eure Früchte faulen? Mit was sind sie denn befallen? Maden oder was "Unsichtbares" im Holz? Quitten gehen hier recht stabil. Was ich mehr oder weniger als einziges Problem (auch bei Birnen nebst Gitterrost, der nicht so schlimm ist) feststellen kann, ist Monilia. Die Monilia im Holz, nicht die man z.B. auf vom Apfelwickler befallenen Äpfeln sieht.

@morph Es war von Anfang an so, dass man gena schnell ernten und verarbeiten muss. Und ich hatte schon zig Fachleute auf dem Grundstück. Ausser einem harmlosen Blattpilzbefall, der jedes Jahr aufs Neue kommt, egal ob man was spritzt oder nicht, hatte keiner eine Diagnose, ausser Auslichten 🤷🏻‍♀️. Wenn es nicht irgendwelche 70kg wären, die da jährlich anfallen, dann wäre es auch nicht so viel Stress.
Das Klima hier ist zu feucht. Meine Vermutung. Hier gedeiht einfach nichts.

@schnagi Hm ... manchmal passen Sorten tatsächlich nicht zur Gegend. Nicht alle sind Allrounder. Auslichten ist natürlich immer gut, gerade bei hoher Luffeuchtigkeit. Quitten wachsen ja auch noch recht chaotisch zu.

@elmussol Wow ... you have Carob. I've never eaten something made from it (I think). It seems to be totally uncommon here.
BTW ... what's the state of eggs and donkeys? ;)

We moved a couple of years ago 5km to a smaller, less extreme, but still off-grid place (we're getting old). Not enough room for the donkeys, so they moved to a new home with a friend of ours. They are both happy and well.

The human house isn't finished yet, so more chickens is probably a next spring thing.

I miss both the donkeys and the chickens every day.
